SECURECORDSSECURECORDS

App on your phone

Add SECURECORDS to your phone.

In about 30 seconds, SECURECORDS gets its own icon on your home screen and opens full screen, like any app. No app store, nothing to set up, and it's always the latest version.

Opens like an app

Its own icon, full screen, no address bar — straight to your sign-in or unlock screen.

Face ID or fingerprint

Set up a passkey once and unlock with your face, fingerprint or phone PIN.

Same privacy

Exactly the same end-to-end encryption as in the browser. Nothing extra to allow.

Before you start: open SECURECORDS in your phone's main browser — Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android. If you tapped a link inside another app (email, Instagram, Facebook…), first choose "Open in browser" from that app's menu.

iPhone and iPad

On iPhone (Safari)

1

Open SECURECORDS and tap Share

In Safari, go to securecords.com/app. Then tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up . It's in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen (at the top on iPad).

On the newest iPhones (iOS 26), the toolbar is simpler: tap ••• first, then Share.

2

Tap "Add to Home Screen"

A list of options slides up. Scroll down past the row of app icons and tap Add to Home Screen.

Don't see it? Scroll the list all the way down. If it's still missing, make sure you're in Safari and not inside another app's browser.

3

Tap "Add"

You'll see the SECURECORDS icon and name. Leave the name as it is (or shorten it) and tap Add in the top-right corner.

If you see an Open as Web App switch, keep it on — that's what makes it open full screen.

4

Open it from your home screen

The SECURECORDS icon is now on your home screen, next to your other apps. Tap it — SECURECORDS opens full screen at your sign-in screen. You can move it, or put it in a folder, like any other app.

Using Chrome on iPhone? Tap the Share icon in Chrome's address bar, then Add to Home Screen, then Add. The result is the same.

Android

On Android (Chrome)

Quickest way: sign in at securecords.com/app, open Settings → App on your phone and tap Add app to your phone. Your phone asks you to confirm — tap it, and you're done (skip to step 4).

1

Open SECURECORDS and tap the menu

In Chrome, go to securecords.com/app. Then tap the menu — the three dots ⋮ at the top-right corner of the screen.

2

Tap "Add to home screen"

In the menu, tap Add to home screen. Depending on your version of Chrome, it may be called "Install app" instead — it's the same thing.

3

Confirm

A small box shows the SECURECORDS icon. Tap the confirm button — Chrome labels it "Add" or "Install" depending on the version. Some phones then ask whether to place the icon automatically; choose Add.

4

Open it from your home screen

Find the SECURECORDS icon on your home screen (or in your list of apps) and tap it. It opens full screen, straight to your sign-in screen.

Using Samsung Internet? Tap the menu ≡ at the bottom right, then Add page to → Home screen. Firefox: menu ⋮ → Add to Home screen.

After adding it

  1. Sign in once

Open SECURECORDS from its new icon and sign in with your email and password. (On iPhone, the home-screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari — so you sign in once more here.)

  2. Turn on Face ID or fingerprint unlock

Go to Settings → Passkey unlock and follow the two short steps. From then on, unlocking is a glance or a touch. See Passkey unlock for details.

  3. That's it

Updates arrive automatically — there's never anything to update yourself. Your records stay end-to-end encrypted, exactly as in the browser.

Questions

I can't find "Add to Home Screen".

You're probably inside another app's built-in browser (from an email, Instagram, Facebook or a messaging app). Use that app's menu to choose Open in Safari / Open in Chrome, then try again. On iPhone, also scroll the Share list all the way down. On older Android phones, look for Add to Home screen or Install app in Chrome's ⋮ menu.

Is it a real app? Do I need the App Store or Google Play?

No app store is involved. SECURECORDS is a web app: adding it to your home screen gives it its own icon and a full-screen window, so it looks and works like an app. That's also why it's always up to date — there's nothing to update.

Is it as private as using the website?

Yes — it's the same SECURECORDS, with the same end-to-end encryption. It asks for no extra permissions: no contacts, no location, no photos.

It opened in a normal browser tab, not full screen.

Remove the icon and add it again, this time starting from securecords.com/app in Safari or Chrome. On iPhone, keep Open as Web App switched on if you see it.

How do I remove it?

Press and hold the icon, then choose Remove App / Delete Bookmark (iPhone) or Uninstall / Remove (Android) — the wording depends on your phone. Your records aren't affected; they stay in your account.

Can I do this on a computer too?

Yes. In Chrome or Edge on a computer, open securecords.com/app and use the icon at the right end of the address bar (or the browser menu) to add it as an app. It then opens in its own window.

Ready? Open SECURECORDS on your phone.

Go to securecords.com/app in Safari or Chrome, then follow the steps above.
